Maybelline is a cosmetic brand that was founded by Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams was only 19 years old when he started the business and didn't sell it up until 1967 when he got an offer he couldn't resist. Williams was inspired by his sister Maybel and how she was using Vaseline to make her eyebrows and eyelashes stand out in order to charm the man she loved. He decided to help her and started to mix the Vaseline with coal in order to make the lashes to look darker. The resulting substance was an immediate success. Not only had Williams invented mascara as we know it, Maybel also ended up marrying the man she was after!

In 1991 Maybelline unveiled their now famous slogan; “Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline “ which is still used in their adverts. Their adverts are also known for featuring some of the most beautiful women in the world, such as model Gigi Hadid who signed a contract for TV and magazine adverts in 2015.

Maybelline have had a great success with their Fit Me range containing concealers, foundations, powders and blushes. The popularity of the range rose with the support from bloggers and vloggers all over the world. The range is made to give a light and natural look for affordable prices.
The Color Sensational range is another popular range from Maybelline. It contains every colour and pigment you could think of for you lips. The range contains lipsticks, lip glosses and lip pencils in both matte, satin, creamy and shine finishes.
